ANDREA GERALDI

PROJECT DESIGN AUTHORITY,Thales Alenia Space Italia
He graduated laude in Physics of Matter with specialization in Quantum Optics and Information in 2017 at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. His thesis work, supervised by Professor Paolo Mataloni, focused on the quantum properties of hyperentangled states and concluded with a thesis entitled “Generation of a hyperentangled state on the way and in polarization with non-degenerate photons and Stimulated Emission Tomography”.
In 2021 he obtained his doctorate from the same university under the direction of Professor Mataloni. His research has focused on the study of Quantum Walks, a quantum analogue of Classical Random Walks, and their ability to simulate anomalous diffusion behaviors. Through the Quantum Walks he also studied the possibility of preserving the quantum correlations of a system that evolves according to a disordered dynamic. D
After completing her PhD she spent 4 months at the University of Paderborn collaborating with the group of Professor Christine Silberhorn, with whom she carried out studies on Quantum Walks. The PhD concluded with a thesis entitled “Experimental study of anomalous diffusion and quantum correlation in an all optical Quantum Walks” and a series of papers published in peer reviewed journals.
After 7 months of post-doc he worked as a Physical Science Specialist and in the R&D department at Crisel Instruments s.r.l. For about a year and a half he has held the role of Quantum Architect at Thales Alenia Space Italia, where he is involved in national and international projects in the field of Quantum Key Distribution and optical satellite communications.
